Identity

An author

You say you want to write a book. The idea is there, the topic is clear, and you may even have notes or outlines. But the writing itself does not happen consistently.

Days pass without opening the document. Writing gets postponed until there is more time, more clarity, or the right mood. Work, responsibilities, and distractions fill the day, and the book remains something you plan to start tomorrow.

Part of the hesitation comes from identity. Calling yourself an author can feel premature when the book is not finished yet. The title seems reserved for people who have already published something. Because the identity feels distant, it becomes harder to treat the writing as serious work today.

In reality, there is a difference between an author and a published author. A published author is someone whose work has been released through a publisher or platform. An author is simply someone who writes original work.

The issue is rarely talent or knowledge. The real challenge is consistency. A book is not written through occasional bursts of effort. It is written through regular sessions where you show up and write, even on the days when it feels inconvenient or uninspiring.

This blueprint focuses on building the identity of a writer through daily repetition.
